Subject area 5 – Bioenergy strategy
Aim:
- Sustainable bioenergy strategy in the area of liquid biofuels
Measures:
- Improvement of the data base to validate and develop the liquid biofuels strategy
- Demonstration of optimisation potentials
- Development of innovative techniques and applications in the field of liquid biofuels
Phase I:
- Setting up studies to improve the data basis for present and future utilisation paths for liquid biofuels, especially with regard to the net greenhouse gas effects
- Evaluation of existing and planned liquid biofuels facilities to identify technical, economic and ecological optimisation potentials.
- Setting up feasibility studies for the production and utilisation of greenhouse gas efficient liquid biofuels as well as the linked market effects and possible interactions.
Phase II:
- Funding of pilot and demonstration projects that realise the results from phase I in an efficient and applicable way.
