Subject area 4– Biomethane strategy
Aim:
- Provision of biomethane with regard to the structure of gas supply systems in Mid- and Eastern European states.
Measures:
- Creation of technical, conceptual and organisational research approaches
- Development of innovative and emission-poor methods for the provision of biomethane
Phase I:
- Setting up feasibility studies and concepts for pilot and demonstration facilities in Germany to prove and test the possibilities of generating bio-synthetic natural gas (Bio-SNG) and feeding it into the gas supply system.
- Setting up feasibility studies concerning biomethane supply via the European gas supply system.
- Preparation and implementation of corresponding bilateral and international cooperations between Germany and international states.
Phase II:
- Realisation of the pilot and demonstration projects from phase I
