Results

The report is only available in German.

Subject and aim

The scope of the project is to analyze the role of energetic biomass utilization in the electricity and heat sector in Germany from 2020 to 2050 using a model based scenario analysis. The scenario analysis considers different assumptions concerning the biomass potential for the electricity and heat markets as well as the development of heating systems and thermal insulation standards in the building sector. Moreover, advantages and disadvantages of different pathways of energetic biomass utilization concerning efficiency and climate protection are described.
