Topic

Particularly in the small output range, solid biomass has so far hardly been used in efficient combined heat and power generation, as corresponding technologies (such as gasification) have not yet found widespread application. Against the background of the limited sustainable biomass potential, new developments for low-emission decentralised electricity generation from solid biomass represent an important contribution to the ecologically sensible use of this regenerative resource. Areas of application for such technologies are, for example, agricultural regions. Here there is a need for both electrical and heating energy. The decentralised use of solid biomass not only contributes to CO2 savings, but also to strengthening local added value and thus the rural area as a whole.

Aims

The aim of the project is the development, construction, testing and demonstration of the coupling of a biomass boiler with an ORC module with an electrical output of 30 kW and a thermal output of 425 kW.
