Topic

Despite great interest on the part of potential users, small industrial biomass gasifiers have not yet become established on the market in Germany. Therefore, expertise from several research organizations with relevant prior experience will be pooled, non-technical factors will be incorporated and plant operators and developers will be involved to eliminate existing barriers.

Aims

  • Professional support for small industrial biomass gasifiers
  • Improving existing plant concepts technically, economically and ecologically
  • Supplying users and investors with reliable information to facilitate the market launch

Measures

DBFZ

In the Federal Measuring Program different plant concepts for small-scale biomass gasificators are being scientifically analysed and evaluated in field campaigns (one-year long-observation and in-depth analyses). The DBFZ evaluates selected plant concepts technically, economically and ecologically in order to identify promising overall concepts. The results are used to create a database as well as for the improvement of existing process concepts in technical, economical and ecological respect.

Focus

DBFZ

  • field campaigns
  • technical analysis of overall systems and critical single components
  • technical, economical and ecological evaluation
  • network formation to avoid double development
  • providing users and investors with reliable information
