Topic

During the survey the potential of hay and reed was determined by the use of so called InVeKoS-data. Further the region is analysed by the infrastructure, existing bioenergie plants, local heat demand and stakeholders to identify possible plant sites. Additionally investigations for pelletising and combustion of the materials and biogas production are performed. In a concluding step regional options of a utilization concept and its transferability are analysed.

Aims

The main target is the survey of possible utilization opportunities (combustion, biogas) for hay from landscape conservation by performing an analysis of the biomass potential and the regional conditions. Further regional specific usage concepts of the concerned biomass and the evaluation in aspect of the transferability for other regions are considered.

Measures

DBFZ

  • Potential analysis: determination of the so far unused biomass residues using InVeKoS-data base
  • Region analysis: characterisation of the region with focus on the local heat demand, stakeholder structures and logistics conditions
  • Generation of feasible logistic concepts
  • Conceptual and practical survey of pelletisation and combustion
  • Determination of the achievable greenhouse-gas decrease
  • Generation of a utilization concept
  • Describe and validate of the used methods and results with focus of the transferability for other regions

ATB

Building on a Status Quo Analysis of the region and an assessment of the biomass potentials, the project aims at developing regional concepts which are then economically evaluated. The most promising approaches are prepared for implementation.

Focus

DBFZ

  • Potential analysis
  • Region analysis
  • Concept of pelletisation, pelletisation and combustion testing
  • Concept assembling of possible utilization opportunities

ATB

  • Calculation of the grassland potentials using different methods
  • Economical evaluation of diverse regional concepts of biogas produced from grass
