Subject and aim

The aim is to demonstrate the feasibility of the upgrading of small municipal sewage treatment plants by integrating an innovative utilization concept of biogenic residues, in particular grass cutting.

In detail, we will be able to operate fault towers economically in the sewage treatment plants of small municipalities by achieving synergies with an anaerobic fermentation system. The fermentation of residual materials, which are regularly carried out in municipalities, is intended to achieve a methane quantity which leads to the energy self-sufficiency of the sewage treatment plant and which contributes to the utilization of a cogeneration plant.
