The main objectives of the “Energiewende” can be reached by increasing the use of renewable energy sources, in particular in the flexibility of their utilisation and application possibilities as well as in the increase of the overall energy efficiency of the used technologies. Particularly with regard to the partial aspect of the "Wärmewende", it is indispensable to open up new or currently only subordinate used energy sources or resources. In addition to class A1 pellets, according to EN ISO 17225-2, this includes especially wood pellets of the classifications A2, B, I1, I2 and I3.
The EmiLy project involves the construction, research, experimental development and validation, as well as the further development and optimisation of an energetically efficient, compact, ecologically sustainable and at the same time attractively priced pellet boiler with 150 kW heat output.
The main focus of the project is the consistent use of pellets, in particular the classifications A2, B, I1, I2 and I3, according to EN ISO 17225-2 as well as on the overall efficiency increase and emission minimisation of the pellet boiler especially in its partial load operation.
