Topic

Early 2010, the amended version of the 1. BImSchV was enacted. Accordingly, new limit values for dust emissions of 0.02 g/Nm3 and 0.4 g/Nm3 for CO emissions apply to newly installed biomass boilers from January 2015 (except wood log boilers from January 2017). The aim is that resulting from the combustion of solid biomass fuels dust and carbon monoxide emissions are reduced to an environmentally acceptable level.

Within the context of the project an electrostatic precipitator for the reduction of dust emissions should be tested in a small series test program.

Aims

The main goal of the project is the implementation of a fully integrated electrostatic precipitator in biomass boilers and the scientific follow up during the project. Finally at the end of the project the developed electrostatic precipitator is ready for the market.

Measures

IZES

The measures within the work packages are closely linked with the work of the project partner Hoval. The specific tasks of the IZES gGmbH are primarily in the area of monitoring of field test units, and the further development of the controller of the electrostatic precipitator and the cleaning device for the HV electrode. In addition IZES is involved in the identification of field test sites as well as the installation of electrostatic precipitator systems.

HOVAL

The measures within the work packages are closely linked with the work of the project partner IZES. The specific tasks of the Hoval GmbH are primarily in the area of the identification of the field test sites as well as the installation of electrostatic precipitator systems on site. In addition Hoval is involved in the testing and the resulting optimisation phases of the electrostatic precipitators. The main work is the support of the field test sites in the south of Germany as well as the technical improvements of the precipitator box.

Focus

IZES
