Results

Paper: Szarka, N., Schmid, C., Pfeiffer, D. and Thrän, D. (2020). All in one: A comprehensive goal and indicator system for smart bioenergy. Chem. Eng. Technol.. Accepted Author Manuscript. doi:10.1002/ceat.202000033

Aims

The aim of this current project, is to evaluate and quantify the market potential and the contribution of future integrated bioenergy concepts on the basis of existing project results within the framework of the BMWi funding program "Biomass energy use". On the one hand, it is investigated which markets are affected by the project results and the proportion of the project results on the relevant overall market. On the other hand, concepts will be evaluated by their "smartness" and the contribution in the future energy system.

Measures

DBFZ

  • Selection and description of potentially innovative bioenergy concepts based on SmartBioenergy indicators from the "Biomass energy use"
  • Review of the system contribution of bioenergy technologies and analyzing barriers
  • Merge and interpretation of results and recommendations for implementation to market of innovative and integrated approaches

Prognos AG

  •
  • Review of the market potential of bioenergy concepts and analyzing barriers: The classification of industries and markets as well as the classification into the energy policys will analyzed.
  • Assessment of commercial viability or R&D progress as well as the determination and modeling of economic developments and energy markets
