Leipzig, 12 May 2020: A project team from the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ, the German Biomass Research Centre (DBFZ) and the University of Duisburg-Essen is investigating how electricity can be produced more demand-oriented by bioenergy plants. The main focus of the project is on the development and testing of new concepts that offer a financial incentive for flexible plant operation by specifically reinforcing market signals. The findings are intended to help ensure that the technical flexibility of bioenergy plants is applied and that they are used in a more system-oriented manner.
